A Prayer


As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. (Psalm 42:11) 
You said, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” (John 7:37-38) Surely, the living water flows; I will never be thirsty again for you satisfy my soul.
(John 4:14)

Search me, O God, and know my heart, test me and know my anxious thoughts. (Psalm 139:23) Make your face shine upon your servant and teach me your decrees. (Psalm 119:135) See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (Psalm 139:24) Give me an undivided heart and put a new spirit in me, remove from me the heart of stone and give me a heart of flesh. (Ezekiel 11:19)

You have chosen me and appointed me to bear fruit. (John 15:16) It is our greatest commission to go and make disciples of all nations. (Matthew 28:19)  Here am I. Send me. (Isaiah 6:8) I am not only a child. I’ll go to everyone you send me to and say whatever you command me. (Jeremiah 1:7) Teach me to love you and the people you love with burning passion. (Matthew 22:37-39)

I pray that I’ll be able to do my best to present myself as one approved by you. (2 Timothy 2:15) Help me persevere to do your will. (Hebrews 10:36) Help me fight a good fight, finish the race and keep the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7) 
And when we meet, I pray you’ll tell me,

 “Well done, good and faithful servant.” 
(Matthew 25:21, 23)

As part of Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary's vision to bridge cultures for Christ, the school sent four mission teams led by students during last year's Christmas break. One of which is a sports mission team. Last December 20, 2013, a group of people (students, professors, children) from the seminary visited the Angono Football Club to minister to its football players. Sticky earth on our cleats The afternoon started with orientation and introductions. The kids showed enthusiasm as they looked at an intercultural, inter-racial group of people. (I guess, having people from other countries really creates excitement for Filipinos.) We had games and some football matches. The players were also divided into groups for short conversations (which centered on teaching about reaching our goals and telling them how God is very important for us to reach goals) and prayer time. ANSWERED PRAYER

"I am a God of faith and I'm going to honor your faith." "I'm going to do it swiftly in my time." - This is part of the prophetic word I received this year. One month has passed since the Lord answered my prayer.  I'm writing here in (insert country here) as a proof that God is truly a God of faith.   Five years ago, I stood up in church, claiming God's heart for me to serve Him as a world missionary. I had a chance to be part of a short term mission trip three years ago. But my desire to serve Him globally has not quenched even after a few years of serving Him in my hometown. I knew I had to step out in faith and do something so I can fulfill His plans for my life. I attempted to work in Singapore to become a tentmaker last year but to no avail. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Words are very powerful. If there is something that can gash a heart more than a sword, those would be the words from anyone whom we allow to hurt us. It hurts even more when the words come from our own mouth. Lately, I found myself asking questions that eventually keep me down. "Am I fat?" "Why am I alone again?" "Why do I look ugly?" "Why am I so foolish?" "When will I learn?" "Will I ever get _______(fill in the blank with something I want or need)? And then I would impulsively reply negative answers to my own questions. It went on and on until I finally realized that telling myself negative things about me isn't making me any wise. It makes me feel disappointed. It makes me feel down. It makes me feel hopeless. These questions are fatal. It will lead to nowhere but misery and despair. These are the questions everyone should avoid as long as the only answers we can give ourselves are the negative ones. B
