U-TURN

Have you ever felt like running away from God because you don’t want to hurt Him anymore? How about a deep remorse from doing something against the Lord? I felt the same way too. In fact, I was about to leave my faith behind when someone stopped me, JESUS.
That’s when I realized what Joel Osteen said was true:

“When we fall, God doesn’t run away from us,
He runs towards us."

Why would a Holy God run after a sinner? It is because of His unfailing love. When we expect judgment and condemnation, He gives us mercy to be forgiven and grace to start again. He is the God of the imperfect people. He came in this world to bring healing and new life to those who are sick and dying. He came to break the chains of spiritual bondage with sins. He came and paid all our sins in full.

Why does He still love us despite all the mistakes we’ve made? It is because He has called us to be His Sons and Daughters. He cannot disown us even though we have wronged Him. Never have I seen an earthly father who has forget his son or daughter because He does not follow what his father has told him. And even if there will be father like that who exists in this world, our Father in heaven will never ever do that to us. He has called us once to be His Sons and Daughters and He will never take away that identity. This means that all the things which He promised for us will never cease. His plans for our lives will remain good, pleasing and perfect. Nothing can separate us from His love.

What will we do after we’ve learned that our Lord will still be there for us? We need to accept His love. Once again, humble ourselves before Him. Obey His words and get right back on track. He gave another chance for David, Jacob, the Samaritan woman and even His disciple Peter. How will He not also give us another chance?

If we we’re not going to accept His forgiveness, we will just fall farther away from Him. But if we are going to, He will make sure that we’ll never regret coming back to Him.
